Our Inadequacy His Abundance
Have you ever been somewhere with a friend, and your friend did something - a look, a motion of the hand, or a tilt of the head - and you knew he was sending you a sign or a signal? You recognized the “sign” because this person was a friend; you had seen this “look” before. Jesus had “signs” for his disciples - specific things he did and ways he communicated with his friends. John tells us seven of those “signs.” He includes us in on the friendship circle. Sunday we will open our Bibles and continue where Brian left off with the “first sign”, and in that sign we are invited to trade our embarrassment of inadequacy for the joy of His abundance.
