OUR VISION
Since God values children, so should we.
In the United States alone, there are over 500,000 children who are in foster care. Of them 140,000 are considered legal orphans and await their forever family. These children are extremely vulnerable. With God’s presence and help, we as the church can be the solution – one child at a time.
Children are in foster care because of neglect, abuse, or abandonment. Their lives have been surrounded by brokenness. Foster Care is intended to be a temporary solution. The goal is for families of origin to work things out so that children can return to their homes.
Foster parents have the unique opportunity to be an advocate for children who cannot speak up for themselves. Because foster parents are responsible for children in their care 24/7, they often know the child’s situation better than anyone else does. Foster parents have the right and the responsibility to be that invaluable voice in courts where forever decisions are made.
All children need love, security, and a sense of belonging. Foster parents have the opportunity to be as Christ to children in need – to help children heal emotionally and physically, to assure them that they will be safe and cared for, to encourage their talents, hopes and dreams, and to share God’s wonderful love.
No one said foster care was easy. It is about the hardest thing we’ll ever do. We will be s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d in ways we never thought possible, and we will rely on God like we’ve never had to before. The children we cry out for will make us weep; the ones we long to help heal will hurt us; the trauma they’ve been through will pierce our hearts. When we take in the lost and the broken, we become as Christ to them, Foster care is not easy, cheap, or convenient – and neither was the cross.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

WHAT WE DO
Training
Your first step to become a Foster Family is to attend a 2 hour Foster Care Information Session. We are currently doing foster care information sessions online. To find out about upcoming dates and times, please visit: https://families4families.cc/info-session-sign-up/
This 24 Hour class is the Georgia mandated training class for foster and respite families. Fostering Grace hosts IMPACT for one of our partner agencies. To inquire about the next set of IMPACT dates, please email .
Care Communities
Fostering Grace provides Care Communities for each of our foster families. A Care Community is a group of 4-6 people that surround and support a specific family by providing meals, babysitting and prayer. In order to serve on a Care Community, we ask that you attend a 1 Hour Volunteer Orientation to learn more about how our Care Communities work. Please e-mail to get more information or to join a team!

During the Christmas season, Grace families have an opportunity to bless a foster child by choosing to purchase a gift from our Amazon Wish List. These gifts come straight off the Wish Lists of some of our Grace Foster Children.

PARTNERSHIP MINISTRIES
Promise 686 and Live the Promise
In 2013, Grace forged a partnership with Promise686, an organization which exists to equip churches and families to care for vulnerable children. Promise686 was a key tool that the Lord used to enable Grace to support our foster families well through trainings, Care Communities and resources. Since then, Live the Promise, the foster care arm of Promise686 has begun to mobilize families and churches to care specifically for foster children. To find out more about the work of Promise686 and Live the Promise or to find out how they can assist your church in building a Foster Care Ministry, visit www.promise686.org and www.livethepromise.org.
Uniting Hope 4 Children
Our partnership with Uniting Hope 4 Children began out of a deep desire to see our foster families receiving placements in a timely manner. Uniting Hope 4 Children is a faith based non-profit, 501(c)3 that recruits, trains and encourages foster families. Their desire is to place abused and neglected children in safe, loving homes. They believe this is best accomplished through partnering with local churches and recruiting Care Teams. www.uh4c.org
