Life is filled with questions. And no questions loom larger in our lives than the questions of tragedy. Why do bad things happen? Who is to blame for the brokenness we encounter on such a regular basis? While these themes have been hinted at already in many of our encounters of Jesus through the gospel of John, this week these are the questions we face head on at the front end of one of John’s most amazing Jesus stories. And it is into these questions that Jesus steps and provides not simply a profound answer but a better question. We always ask “Why?” But here Jesus teaches us to ask, “To what end?”
Tragedy always changes our trajectory. Join us this week as we literally learn to see together how the change in our trajectory that tragedy sometimes provides can be worked for our best and God’s glory.
