The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully committed to him. -2 Chronicles 16:9

God looks for a people who are hungry for Him–a people with hungry hearts desiring not just an encounter with God, but to be engulfed with His wonder. As we close this year and look into the next, it is our desire to seek God and see God do the miraculous!

Sunday we are going to open our Bibles to 2 Chronicles 15-16. These two chapters stand in stark contrast to each another. Chapter 15 describes a shared agreement: They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul. (v. 12 NLT) But in chapter 16 we find this same people who previously sought God taking another path: Because you have put your trust in the King instead of in the LORD your God you have missed your chance… (v.7 NLT) God is a God of grace and a God of second chances, but He is delighted–and we flourish–when we choose to seek God first.

This Sunday we enter a covenant to choose the path of seeking God first. We call this “Watch Week.” It is a beautiful opportunity for the body of Grace to call upon and listen to God 24/7. Each evening at 7pm there will be a gathering for worship and prayer, but we would love to see the space occupied every day, around the clock. We are asking people to consider fasting and seeking God’s plans and power, not only for us personally, but as a church, a community and a nation. We do not want the coming year to be a year in which we do all we can; we hunger not for the normal, nor even for the best we can do, but we hunger for the miraculous–what only God can do.

We believe that even as we seek Him, we will find He seeks us.
If you seek me wholeheartedly you will find me. I will be found by you.
