Scripture values fathers! In our culture, great dads are not necessarily regularly featured on the evening news. If anything, we see more newspaper headlines of dads who let down their family and society. In 25+ years of student ministry, I have come to the conclusion that dads matter, and that most dads take their assignment to love and lead their family pretty seriously.
This Father’s Day, we want to celebrate fathers. Let’s face it, they have full plates in a culture that tries to stack the deck against them. Anxious thoughts accompany most every dad as they seek to love their wife, protect their kids, and provide a hopeful future for their family.
Psalm 127 has good news for fathers and families! He wants to take away any anxiety you have. He wants to build your family and protect your home. Every dad can take great comfort in the fact that a perfect Heavenly Father has got their back!
