When we think back over all the miracles in the Bible, the parting of the Red Sea is surely among the most monumental. But God did much more than save the Israelites from their mortal enemy that day. He taught them about Himself–His might and His grace. In response, the people serenaded God with a song of praise and remembrance that’s still sung today.

As a family, take time to discuss these questions and possible action steps you can take.

What is Grace?
How do you see God’s Grace in the story of the Red Sea?

Close your eyes and imagine walking through the parted sea. Hear the roar as walls of water are held back; feel the salty mist on your face. First one step, then another.

How would passing through the Red Sea change you?
How would that walk change the way you know God?

If you’ve been walking with the Lord a while, share a time when your relationship with God changed because of
how He walked you through a certain situation. What did that experience teach you about His grace?

Why do people sing and dance and worship God when they “get” God’s Grace?

How do you hear God’s Word? How is God’s Word guiding your life right now?

In the Song of the Sea, the people recalled the mighty things God had done for them. Can your family do that
now?

Oh God, You have _________________ , and _________________ , and _________________ . . .
Call these out to God, not just about Him.

Take time now to remember the grace of God, celebrate it and dance a little! (Yes, cue up the worship music and
dance!)
