Luke writes to us one of the most compelling stories of worship and love in the scriptures. We find a woman whose name is not given and whose reputation has labeled her as a sinful woman. She hears about the master’s whereabouts and driven by her need she enters into a room filled with hostility, judgment, and disgust. Her need is greater than her fear; she is looking not to gain something from Jesus, but to give something to Him. She had a need to worship. She came to give Him her everything.
When you enter the presence of God is your attitude like Simon, who was satisfied with hosting Jesus but not serving him, or is it like the woman? Do you come and give your everything?
