Have you seen the news about Easter, this year? Have you noticed the overwhelming, relentless media attention that “Resurrection Sunday” has received? Did you see the Presidential picks about what he believes will be the top ten Easter Celebrations this year?
Did anyone notice the news crews hovering around “The Church of the Holy Sepulchre” in Jerusalem shouting, “What’s your predictions on how many will show up, world-wide, for worship this year?” “How do you explain how a handful of weeping nobodies, coming to visit the tomb of a man slaughtered by the Romans, could have been transformed into a global movement eclipsing every other event by a magnitude that is beyond computation?”
Most likely you missed the media attention, the investigative reporting, the headline news and the magazine covers. The reason you did not notice them is because there is a silence that is so deafening it is impossible not to notice.
Is it possible that this event just slipped up on them? Not likely, because every time anyone places a date on their calendar, the number on that date
is calibrated to the man whose life, death and resurrection stares them in face. “Did you notice it’s 2011?” 2011 years from what? The Super Bowl? The World Cup? The founding of America?
No! Sunday is Resurrection Sunday! 2011 years ago, God stepped into His creation and announced the New Creation!
Sunday, we will open our Bibles to John 20 and take a walk to an Empty Tomb! We will remember the most massive “Cave In” in history that became epic beyond imagination.
